Yes, from age 18. Bill C-218, given royal assent on June 29, 2021 and in force since August 27, 2021, allowed single-game betting across Canada, and it explicitly recognizes esports competitions as sporting events. The law targets operators, not bettors.

The province also stands out for its firm line on unauthorized sites: in May 2025, a Manitoba court granted the provincial corporation an injunction against offshore sportsbook Bodog, a ruling the industry watched closely.
